Hidey to moggy was left to fend for herself when her elderly owner, who was suffering from Alzheimer's disease, was taken to a nursing home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She hid down in the corner of the cellar.

"The companionship of a pet can bring many positive benefits to the elderly, however, owning a pet is a large responsibility", Dan Rossi, CEO of the Animal Rescue League Shelter in the Western PA Humane Society, told PEOPLE.

Fortunately her ordeal is over and she is now living with Mr Russell and getting used to be a normal cat again. That's where he discovered Hidey, and he said the scene was "almost like a horror movie". "Probably very scared. Probably in a lot of pain".

Oil slips below $55 as dollar, Libyan production boost weigh
Oil prices also came under pressure after Libya's National Oil Co. said long-closed pipelines had reopened in the country's west. Brent crude oil which is at Dollars 54.86 per barrel has fallen 0.35 per cent according to the report that came at 1.40 am EST.

'When they put him in the nursing home, I thought, "Hey, he has a cat.' The house was still open, so I went down and left some food for the cat until we figured out what we're going to do", Russell told The Dodo website. The next day I went into the creepy old cellar and it was hunkered in a corner.

She suffered from severe matting (dreadlocks, really), the likes of which had been neglected for years.'

Our Medical team shaved off the pounds of intertwined fur from her body &, needless to say, this cat is feeling so much better now!

Since she was sheared, Hidey has joined the other cat, 17-year-old Siam, at Russell's place, People magazine reported.

Third Quarter GDP Revised Up to 3.5%
Gross fixed capital formation increased 0.9 percent from prior quarter to GBP 78.4 billion, the ONS said in a separate communique. A jump in soybean exports also had a positive impact, after a poor soy harvest in Argentina and Brazil.

Caitlin Lasky, senior marketing communications manager for Western PA Humane Society, revealed: "It was two pounds of fur". "Even looking online, I had a hard time finding anything similar, so it's definitely a unique case". Staff were shocked by the condition of the cat and said it was likely the result of years of neglect.

Vets speculate it probably took years for the fur to become so badly matted. As it got worse and worse, it would have been impossible for her to help herself, and it is thought her owner was not able to groom her.

When Hidey the cat was found, she was covered in nearly a kilogram of matted fur.
