Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Balor has always been scheduled for WrestleMania 33 but there's no word yet on what his role will be.

The professional wrestler now under WWE's NXT brand turns 37 years old today. The former champion appeared during Wednesday night's WWE NXT television tapings at the University of Central Florida.

The NXT champion Bobby Roode and Andrade "Cien" Almas were beating on Shinsuke Nakamura when the return occurred.

According to Prowrestlingsheet.com, Balor was telling the truth when he told the NXT crowd that he wasn't medically cleared to return to the ring. He was presumably referring to his former title, the WWE Universal Championship, held now by Kevin Owens.

Assuming Balor is indeed medically cleared to compete in two weeks, he would likely be returning on the episode of Monday Night Raw airing March 13th. It's not an ideal spot for the first-ever WWE Universal champion, but a realistic possibly if there's nothing for him to do.

While Balor was away, Kevin Owens won the WWE Universal Championship with help from Triple H in a Fatal 4-Way match that involved Rollins, Roman Reigns and Big Cass. But there are no rumors or news yet of possible matches for him at the show.
