Police say an 8-year-old girl has been fatally shot after the vehicle she was in was involved in a auto crash in Houston.
Adkins and her mom, Latoyia Thomas were driving near the intersection of the Sam Houston Parkway feeder and Fuqua Street, when a speeding auto hit their vehicle. It's not clear if they were racing or if it was a road rage incident, or something else. Thomas said she was unable to slow down in time, and the cars collided with each other.
"The light was green, and as soon as I got to the light it turned yellow - I couldn't stop", Thomas said.
Latoyia Thomas told KPRC-TV the Pontiac's driver abandoned the wreck and got into the third vehicle, a dark, four-door sedan. Instead of offering any help, the woman allegedly started firing a gun at her vehicle.
