Police now say 9 killed in serial shootings case

Police added there were no connections between the victims in the case.

Most of the attacks took place between 2015 and July of 2016 in a predominantly Latino neighbourhood of the Arizona city. The weapon, that has been identified as the weapon that killed Romero, as well as other victims, was pawned to a pawn shop in Phoenix, it was pawned just over two weeks after Romero's murder on September 1, 2015, and was bought by a new owner on June 28th, 2016, making that weapon unavailable for use as the killing weapon, determined by police, for all of the other killings attributed to Saucedo.

"Today is a good day in the city of Phoenix", said Mayor Greg Stanton, praising the law enforcement task force that hunted the shooter for almost a year.

The city's fear peaked because most of the killings came in a cluster, with seven people slain in a two-and-a-half-month period last spring.

On the imaging section, the rear camera will be of 12MP with f/1.7, dual autofocus pixels and a 5MP front camera to shoot selfies. Nearly all of the Z2 Play's internals are set to see upgrades, albeit somewhat modest ones.

Aaron Saucedo of Phoenix was arrested in April and later charged with murder in connection with the first of the killings, which occurred in August 2015, Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams told reporters at a news conference. The Associated Press was unable to reach Saucedo's public defender on Monday.

Williams announced Saucedo has been linked to eight other shootings, bringing to nine the total number of killings investigators linked to him. All of the killings were random except for the first one, Williams said.

"We hope that our community will rest a little easier and that our officers will get a little more sleep knowing that the wheels of justice are finally in motion", Williams said.

Authorities realized they had a serial shooter on the loose in June after finding links in crime scene evidence from five shootings.

Manuel Castro Garcia, 19, was murdered outside his home on June 10, 2016.

Marina Smith, the partner of 21-year-old Diego Verdugo-Sanchez, who was gunned down on April 1, 2016, said she welcomed news of the arrest but was still struggling with his loss. "I waited every day for justice, but things don't change".

She described him son as a noble person who studied and worked hard and was loved by everyone he knew.

But in a odd quirk, the Department of Public Safety said Saucedo's gun from the killing of his mother's friend had been test-fired as part of the freeway shooting probe.
