Graco recalls car seats; webbing may not hold child in crash

The model numbers impacted are 1871689, 1908152, 1813074, 1872691, 1853478, 1877535, 1813015 and 1794334.

Graco's Canadian division is recalling 1,393 auto seats with defective harness restraints. Next, look for the date on the tag on the webbing of the harness on the back of the seat and check the information against the chart below.

According to it's website, Graco says no injuries have been reported. The reason for the recall is that the mesh in the vehicle seat may not properly hold a passenger in the event of an accident. The fix will have it meeting Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 213, "Child Restraint Systems".

Due to the My Ride 65 products possibly not properly restraining children during an accident, it will be be fixed by Graco.

Graco reportedly will replace the harnesses free of charge. "After further discussion with NHTSA, and a meeting on May 3, 2017, Graco has chose to conduct a safety recall to remedy that batch of sewn webbing", according to the NHTSA report.
