Serena's back at a Slam! OK, sort of; she watched Venus win

Posted June 01, 2017

Venus Williams was delighted to have sister Serena cheering her on as she beat Kurumi Nara - and says she hopes little sis will stay in Paris to support her throughout the tournament.

Venus Williams began her 20th Roland Garros with a 6-4, 7-6 (3) win over China's Wang Qiang on Sunday.

"She's going to call me the favorite aunt", she told the Eurosport interviewer when asked whether Serena has any names picked out.

Less than six months after a knife attack at her home, two-time Wimbledon champion Kvitova was back competing, winning the first match of her comeback 6-3, 6-2 at Roland Garros against 86th-ranked Julia Boserup of the United States. And although Serena was absent from the draw this year, she was still present and correct on Philipp Chatrier to watch her sister play her 66th match.

South Africa seamers wreak havoc to secure consolation win
Reflecting on his conversation with the officials, de Villiers said: "I expressed I was quite upset about it". Morkel went wicketless but he was South Africa's most miserly bowler‚ conceding 15 runs in his four overs.

"She is a more capable clay court player than most people think and when you consider the big hitters that have won in the women's game - Sharapova twice in the last few years and Muguruza last year - Venus is definitely one of the possibilities", Shriver had said.

Williams plans on resuming her career in 2018.

The victor of 23 Grand Slam singles titles is not playing for the rest of this season because she is pregnant.

"I love being here and I love playing on this court", Williams said. "But she knows exactly what it's like out there, and she's had a lot of success here". The rout continued for Nara as she lost her sixth successive game, getting broken after the American fired four winners in five points to get the early lead in the second set. "I don't know how well I'm going to do, because I don't know what to do", Venus said. "I knew the first point today was important", world number 91 Olivo, who trained in France from 2012-2016, said courtside in French. You'd still like Venus to clean up a combined 74 unforced errors, but with her return ability and the fact she's produced eight breaks, it hasn't come back to bite her yet.

Sony Ceases PlayStation 3 Production in Japan
As you can see, Life is unusual and Killing Floor 2 are two of the choices players will have, the others have yet to be announced. All the PlayStation Vita fans can still have access to Laser Disco Defenders and Type: Rider via the Cross-buy feature.

Ekaterina Makarova, who upset top-seeded Angelique Kerber in the first round, could not follow up on her great performance and exited the French Open.

Williams' victory was one of the most notable matches of the Wednesday schedule at Roland Garros. "I did see (Serena) at some point, but I don't remember when it was".
