Acting as ESL's global technical partner, Intel will provide all tournament's PCs, as well as high-performance processors to ensure "optimal streaming".

E-sports is a "cultural phenomenon" that is expected to grow to about 500 million fans worldwide by 2020, said Gregory Bryant, Intel senior vice president and general manager of the Client Computing Group. The finals in 2018 will be held in Poland.

In a move unexpected by many, Intel and ESL have come together to announce a $1,000,000 (£790,201.51) CS:GO prize dubbed the "Intel Grand Slam".

At the time of its reveal, Sony expressed extensively about wanting to find a way to make the main character more mature. Last month's 2018 release leak was confirmed, as God of War has been slated for releaes early next year.

The second title is Echo Arena, a face-paced multiplayer action title set in outer space developed by Ready At Dawn Studios.

According to the press release, this massive partnership will have Intel "power [ing] all of ESL's activities in amateur and professional gaming, including online competition platforms ESL Play and ESEA, National Championships in multiple countries and major events such as the Intel® Extreme Masters, ESL One and ESL Pro League".

ESL recently wrapped up their fifth season of the ESL Pro League at Dallas, Texas which saw G2 Esports take the win in ESL's latest premier level tournament.

Global chipmaker Intel on Monday demonstrated new games and technology and revealed new plans to improve the PC gaming and virtual reality (VR) experiences at the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) here.

Players will also be able to participate in regular live events and challenges that will come with their own special rewards. The microtransaction model has worked for other games, like Overwatch and the undying Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Intel's Kaby Lake Core X-series processors, from 4- to 10-core CPUs, will be available for pre-order beginning on June 19 and will ship to consumers the following week.

The 12-core Intel Core i9-7920X X-series ships in August.

"We have been one of the very first companies to believe in esports and have supported it for over 15 years", Intel CMO Steven Fund said in a release.
