The MMA star-turned-boxer is now fighting for his life after he was knocked out cold by Adam Braidwood in the second round of their match leaving him brain dead. Braidwood (8-1, 7 KOs) hit Hague clean on the head and when the 10-year mixed martial arts veteran fell flat onto his back, his head bounced violently off the canvas.

Former UFC heavyweight fighter Tim Hague is reported to have been pronounced brain dead in hospital after suffering a devastating knockout in a boxing match this past Friday night.

But in the second round of the contest, Braidwood delivered a brutal left-right combination that sent Hague crashing to the canvas.

New Sphero Spider Man Toy Launched
Since this new Spider-Man toy uses voice commands, it's understandable that parents might worry about privacy. He's only listening when the spider on his chest lights up, and conversations are never retained or shared.

"It is with incredible sadness, sorrow and heartbreak to report that Tim has passed away today", his family said in a statement.

Hague, who fights out of Edmonton, also fought in the UFC.

In his next three fights, he suffered a seven-second knockout loss to Todd Duffee at UFC 102, a majority-decision loss to Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 109 and a unanimous decision loss to Joey Beltran at UFC 113. "We will miss him with so greatly", Neil wrote.

Cody Krahn, a good friend of Hague's, said the fighter underwent emergency surgery to "relieve pressure from his brain bleeding".

Tim is now in a coma.

Our deepest condolences go out to Hague's family and friends during this hard and tragic time. Hague entered the bout with Braidwood with a 1-2 overall record and was knocked out in December.
