Blackhawks get Saad back in trade with Blue Jackets

Hjalmarsson, 30, was a key player in the Blackhawks recent run of three Stanley Cups and his played his entire 10-year career in Chicago.

Combined with the Niklas Hjalmarsson deal, it seems the Blackhawks are shedding short-term deals for long-term ones. Dauphin, 22, has appeared in 32 National Hockey League games over the last two seasons. Panarin will now join a team in Columbus that appears to be on the cusp of something special while Saad rejoins his old team in Chicago.

Forsberg will get a chance to replace Scott Darling as Chicago's backup goaltender, and the deal with the Coyotes brings back a promising young defenceman in the 24-year-old Murphy, who had two goals and a career-high 15 assists in 77 games with Arizona last season.

Saad won a pair of Stanley Cups with the Hawks and returns after a two-year stint with Columbus.
