The State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence said on Satuirday that the Long March-5 Y2 would be launched from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in China's southern Hainan Province on Sunday.

What is Long March-5 rocket?

The European Space Agency's Ariane 5 rocket suffered four failures and partial failures in its first 14 launches, but has since put together 80 successful flights in a row. Chinese space scientists are now investigating the failed launch to identify the root cause of the problem.

Landlords should get potentially flammable building materials tested as soon as possible, he added. "They made people panic". The council said residents would be out of their homes for three to four weeks while it completes fire-safety upgrades.

Long March-5 Y2 is created to carry up to 25 tons of payload into low orbit, which makes it the second most powerful rocket in the world after the United State's Delta IV Heavy.

The rocket was launched at 7.23 pm (local time) and it was then that the abnormality arose which led to the failure of the mission.

The Long March 5's maiden test flight previous year had launched Shijian 17.

IMF trims economic forecast for US amid growth uncertainty
The IMF forecast real GDP to grow at 3.9 percent in 2017, propelled by strong domestic demand. "The US is effectively at full employment", said the fund.

The rocket's first launch, in November 2016, was declared a success although issues with the rocket placed the payload, the Shijian-17 satellite, into not quite the planned orbit. The probe will collect samples before returning to Earth.

The Long March 5B, if the schedule holds, could to see one or two test launches in 2018, possibly carrying a test capsule for a 20 metric tonne, next-generation spacecraft for human missions.

The Long March 5 is the heaviest of the three new generation rockets being developed by China using the core stage and different combinations of strap-on boosters and an third upper stage.
