Taylor Swift to testify against Denver DJ in assault case

Taylor Swift is expected to testify as her legal battle with a former radio DJ, David Mueller, over allegations he groped her, arrives in court this week.

The Post said Taylor didn't file charges with police at the time and the incident mostly flew under the radar until Mueller filed his lawsuit against the singer in September 2015, spurring Swift's countersuit.

A key piece of evidence in the case of Swift vs. Mueller was an audio recording the latter held of an interview with his boss from the day he was sacked. He claims that a complaint from Swift's security team about the alleged grope directly led to him being fired.

In a July 2016 deposition, Swift specified that Mueller had reached under her skirt and grabbed onto her "ass cheek". Swift also will be required to be in court for every day of the proceedings, except during jury selection.

With a breezy 26 on the board, he flicked at an Ashwin delivery and Pujara took a spectacular left-handed catch at leg gully. Ashwin registered figures of 2/38. "The bowlers are in the game as well when there is more pace because of the harder ball".

In it, Mueller's hand is hidden behind the singer near her bottom but he claims the only physical contact they had was when their arms brushed as they took their positions.

Swift wore a white dress with a black jacket on Monday as the eight-member jury is chosen from a pool of 60 prospects. There will be no alternates. But the prospect of jury selection did not draw many spectators on Monday.

Swift's counter lawsuit claims one count of assault and one count of battery, according to the documents. The potential juror answered, "She seems petty and spiteful".

Swift never reported the alleged incident to Denver police, but according to court papers, Swift's radio promotions director, Frank Bell, reported the alleged incident to KYGO.

Reports in Italy said the woman has given statements to police and prosecutors aided by lawyers from the British Consulate. The woman, who has not been named, was allegedly kidnapped by two men on 11 July as she turned up for a fake photo shoot.

Swift, who said the groping left her "shocked and distressed", then countersued and has aggressively pursued the case. Bell and Andrea Swift are also defendants in Mueller's lawsuit.

Opening statements in the case are expected sometime Tuesday, and that's when both Swift and Mueller will both have to be present. Swift in a way she found inappropriate, it was inadvertent as he rushed to get into position for the photograph, which, though inconclusive, is expected to be key evidence at the trial. The photo was eventually leaked to TMZ and shows Mueller and his girlfriend standing on either side of Swift, with the DJ's hand placed behind the singer, just under her waist. She tried to keep the situation "discreet and quiet and confidential" and was upset by Mueller's claim that "for some reason she might have some incentive to actually fabricate this story", her attorney, Douglas Baldridge, has argued in court.

Mueller's attorney Gabriel McFarland argues that another fan may have groped Swift and that his client may have been misidentified.
