Mexico City on Tuesday was hit by a devastating natural disaster measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale killing over 200 people and flattening several buildings.
The quake comes on the 32nd anniversary of a 1985 quake which killed 5,000 people and caused serious damage to the Greater Mexico City area.
President Enrique Peña Nieto confirmed that over 4o buildings collapsed in Mexico City, and many more were severely damaged. While another 30 children are believed missing, volunteer rescue crews discovered a girl inside the rubble Wednesday morning. According to Mexico City Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera, buildings fell at 44 places in the capital alone as high-rises across the city swayed sickeningly.
