He served nine of his 33-year sentence for the conviction of kidnapping, armed robbery and several other charges.

Disgraced former National Football League star OJ Simpson is expecting to receive a multi-million-dollar payday for his first post-prison interview, sources say.

He responded "OK" as he left through an open door, wearing a ball cap, denim jacket, jeans and white tennis shoes. Before his release, Simpson met with his parole officer - he will face restrictions of up to five years of parole supervision.

Simpson was released at 12:08 a.m. PT from Lovelock Correctional Center in northern Nevada. He was later found liable in civil court for the murders and ordered to pay $33.5 million to survivors - including his children with Brown Simpson, and Goldman's family.

Simpson, 70, was released in the middle of the night on a weekend to avoid creating a media circus, Keast said.

Simpson's Malcolm LaVergne said there's "no doubt" Simpson is going to Florida.

In June 1994, Simpson's 35-year-old ex-wife and Goldman were found stabbed to death outside her Los Angeles home.

Once he becomes a free man, Simpson mentioned during his parole hearing he'd like to move to Florida, however, the state's attorney general could make that hard. "He has to go through the Nevada Department of Corrections, the Nevada Department of Parole and Probation and at some point very soon he will eventually have his release plans and he will be able to get out".

However, that state's attorney general informed the Florida Department of Corrections on Friday that he is not welcome there.
