Apple faces lawsuit after admitting it slows down old iPhones

Apple has confirmed what some conspiracy theorists suspected, that it intentionally slows performance of older iPhones as batteries weaken from age.

The lawsuit says Apple breached the implied contracts with Bogdanovich and Speas "by purposefully slowing down older iPhone models when new models come out and by failing to properly disclose that at the time that the parties entered into an agreement", according to WCBS.

Bogdanovich and Speas are trying to get the case certified to cover all USA owners of iPhones older than the iPhone 8, according to CNBC.

Second, it got me looking back into games I half-completed or overlooked, wondering if they would receive a PS4 remaster. The new version will include an online battle feature, support for cross-saving and an all-new character named "Rin".

James Vlahakis, an attorney representing the plaintiffs in the Chicago lawsuit, said he has been contacted by more iPhone users who say they suffered the same problem and is considering amending the lawsuit to include a request for Apple to provide battery replacements or offer refunds to consumers who purchased devices unnecessarily. "We've now extended that feature to iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2, and plan to add support for other products in the future", Apple said in the statement.

Joanna Stern, a technology reporter for the Wall Street Journal, told ABC News that the software updates which result in slower processors can help protect iPhones from acting "wonky".

The admission played into concerns that Apple was stealthily nudging iPhone users to upgrade to newer models by letting them think it was the handsets that needed replacing and not just a matter of getting new batteries.

There were no signs of strangulation, leading Agnew to say Stephens probably wasn't killed in a homicide, according to WTVR . The dogs are now held at Goochland Animal Control and the Sheriff's Office said it is seeking to have them both euthanized.

"If you have an old iPhone with an old battery in it, Apple may be slowing down your phone via software so the phone doesn't automatically shut off someplace, or do something else wonky", Stern said.

Critics argue it's a tactic to force customers to buy new devices. "The processor will run at normal speeds".

Apple had previously acknowledged battery problems in some iPhone 6s devices that meant the phones would suddenly shut down and offered to replace batteries affected by the issue.
