President Donald Trump on Monday welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House for talks, as both leaders heralded the USA decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem.

Trump's decision a year ago to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital pleased Netanyahu's government and the president's attendance at the embassy opening would be a significant gesture.

With the opening of the United States embassy in Jerusalem scheduled to coincide with Israel's 70th independence day celebrations, Trump said he may visit Israel for the facility's inauguration.

The timetable for transfer of the US embassy in Israel is uncertain.

"Other leaders talked about it", said Netanyahu.

Both he and Trump, who's dealing with the Russian Federation investigation, say they're not concerned.

"Iran has not given up its nuclear ambitions", he said.

"I think the point is that he's making is he's going to do it faster and far less expensive than a billion dollar project as was projected", said Sanders.

"It's practicing aggression everywhere, including on our own borders", Netanyahu told Trump. "We have, I would say, probably the best relationships right now with Israel that we ever had". White House officials said it was unlikely those issues would arise during talks with Trump. "That is our common challenge", said Netanyahu.
