At least half a dozen people were arrested on Monday after supporters of Richard Spencer clashed with protesters outside a MI college campus where the avowed white nationalist was scheduled to speak.

"A dispute between Richard Spencer supporters and protesters broke out and Kolanowski allegedly pointed a weapon at the protesters", WDIV reported. A spokeswoman for the Michigan State Police said the department was assisting with crowd control but declined to say how many people had been detained or arrested.

Michigan State Police say they initially planned to keep the two groups separated, but protestors had migrated from their original location to a lot where attendees were parking.

Can tie-up with BJP put Rio back in the saddle?
BJP leaders are likely to meet the governor on Tuesday and submit a letter expressing support to the NDPP. Meanwhile, former Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio stated, "We have two topmost priorities".

Michigan State University students are now on spring break, but many reportedly showed up for the speech.

"If it was during the school year, we would've had, like, probably a thousand people", Pillai said. One man said he was on the fence about Spencer as a person but came out of the speech with a better understanding. I am for his ability to speak whatever he wants.

Spencer is also known for coining the term "alt-right", a movement associated with white supremacist ideology.

Katie Kuhn of Lansing led some anti-Spencer chants.

"Nazis, and the need to protest against their ideals", Herron said.

Herron said if she ever had the chance to meet Spencer face-to-face, she'd remind him of a time in January 2017 when he was struck in the face by a protester during a television interview. "I think Nazis, we had a chance with them, and we figured out we weren't going to do that again".
