Violence erupts in Kashmir after security forces kill militants, say police

The authorities today made a decision to keep schools and other educational institutions closed tomorrow even as the separatists extended the strike by one day over the killings of 13 militants and four civilians in three separate encounters in the Kashmir valley.

They later opened fire.
