Sixers Joel Embiid optimistic about 'bright future' following tough loss to Celtics

Posted May 11, 2018

The Philadelphia 76ers' exciting season came to a close on Wednesday when they were eliminated from the playoffs by the Boston Celtics in Game 5, but despite the crushing loss, there is reason for hope in Philly. Keep in mind this was a Sixers team coming off a 10-win season previous year, and to see them advance as far as they did in the playoffs was truly unbelievable, as Brett Brown knows the future is bright for his team.

Following the loss, per ESPN's Ian Begley, Embiid said the Sixers can learn from their mistakes and "definitely" have more to show. We felt like we had a good chance to get to at least the conference finals and that was our goal. Despite all that, Embiid had the attempt he wanted rolling to the basket for the layup over Aron Baynes, but simply came up short on the shot as well as the ensuing putback.

"I feel like this season was kind of like a success", Embiid said.

ZTE Ceases Operations After US Government Ban
The ban prevents USA companies from supplying ZTE with technology and components, which make up a third of ZTE's requirements. In the statement, ZTE explicitly says that all "major operating activities of the Company have ceased" because of the U.S.

"If we're going to do anything of any significance, we're always going to have to go through the Boston Celtics", he said.

While the Cleveland Cavaliers - the favorites to beat the Celtics and go to the NBA Finals for the fourth consecutive season - still might represent "the now" as it relates to the NBA landscape, in large because LeBron James remains the best player on the planet, Boston and Philadelphia both are on the rise. Saric also came down with some highly contested rebounds, dished out four assists, and played reasonably strong defense against Al Horford for much of the night.

The Sixers also could have up to six picks in the 2018 National Basketball Association draft.

More 'Avengers' Movies Possibly Coming After No. 4
With a star-studded ensemble cast, there are around thirty A-list celebrities who took part in making this movie a reality. This is especially evident now, as it brings these quirky characters together in a way that'll make any Marvel fan smile.

So the Sixers should have plenty of opportunities to improve in the next few offseasons.

While Simmons would love to bottle up that production and take it back to Boston for Wednesday's critical Game 5 (8 p.m./TNT), he knows it all starts with the team's approach.

Despite some back-breaking miscues in crunch time of Game 3, Simmons looked more like himself with 16 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and two blocks. "I feel like I had a lot more to go", he said.
